MkIV problems

i know that this is a audio engineering site, but its worth a try.

i hate my amp. this is the problem. i warm up the amp, push of standby, it sounds awsome...but just for a couple of minutes. then its like some one puts a blanket over the speaker cab. the trible get dull. not like when you cut trible on a tone control, just dull. no precense at all. i had the amp on service. but returned with same f%&# problem. when i put the amp on stand by for a couple of seconds and return to "playmode" the problem is gone... but just for a couple of seconds. any ideas? soon i´ll throw the amp out the window.

look for worn tube sockets in the preamp section.
power it up and tap each tube with the eraser side of a pencil. If you hear the tapping come through the speakers, change that tube.

done all that. same problem....

yesbox! preamp and power tubes

You could check if the jacks are ok and have good contact .... maybe some contact cleaner but I think that's not the prob!
I'm no amp tech but could be a a broken cap or something like this ... the sound should be stable... so sounds like a job for an amp tech to me!

A problem I can help with
Try these ideas:
Put a patch cord from the send to return.
Plug guitar straight into the return.
Let me know what happens. I fix circuitry all day long.
