I love this fucking band! I have since I discovered them in 1983 as a freshman in high school. I'm 40 now. I love everything by them...but, especially since "Devil's Canyon" was released in 1996 because they are way heavier now. All albums after DC are very high quality, also. "Silent Reign of Heroes" - 1998, "Kingdom of XII" - 2001, and "Warriors of the Rainbow Bridge" are excellent spins. Bobby Ingram (guitar) and Phil McCormack (vocals) are potent songwriters and Bobby Ingram can fucking shred! This band is heavy enough to tour with a JUDAS PRIEST or an IRON MAIDEN easily and deserve a shot at such. Before anyone here decides to mock me or bust my balls, check these albums out. All are ass kickers! I'll be checking MH out with BLACKFOOT on Oct. 16th. Can't wait!

Been a fan since their first album in the 70's. Danny Joe Brown was an excellent singer

Loved them back in the Flirtin with Disaster days and saw them many times during that era-fantastic live shows. I lost touch after DJB but I will check them out after your recommendation.

Dude, I love Molly Hatchet. Their first three albums all just slay. Saw them in concert years ago as part of the Toledo Speedway Jam with Blue Oyster Cult, Meatloaf, Foghat and Three Dog Night.

Seen Blackfoot years ago and they were good. Was only familiar with Train Train and Highway song and they were good live. Def Leppard opened for them on thier "On through the Night" tour in '81..my how times have changed.

But isn't Blackfoot touring without Rick Medlocke? If so, that ain't Blackfoot.

I've always liked Molly Hatchet. Saw 'em open for Triumph back in the day, and it was a fun show. I haven't heard much of the more recent material though.

Molly Hatchet disappoint me. I'm not the biggest fan of southern rock (despite being from the South). Their album covers are fucking amazing...you'd think it'd sound like some sweet awesome rifftastic Manilla Road type stuff, but no. It's the soundtrack to NASCAR and Bud Light commercials. They're not a bad band...but their album covers are a bit like false advertising, no?

As I said, check out "Devil's Canyon" from 1996 on up and then form your opinion.

Bobby Barth (AXE) is singing for BLACKFOOT now. Rick Medlocke turned it down. Making a shitload more money with SKYNYRD. I'd love to see him back in BLACKFOOT, though.

This band may have the best covers of almost EVERY band on the planet.
I have heard a couple songs.
A bit too "rock" for me personally, but I certainly have an appreciation for what they do, and for keeping true to their sound through all these years.

Cool! I thought I was the only Manilla Road fan on this forum!:kickass:

Ah yes! Molly F'n Hatchet! Absolutely one of my all time faves growing up in the 70's & 80's! I can't even tell you just how many times I listened to the first ST album & "Flirtin' With Disaster" on vinyl way back in 1979 when it first came out, I'm pretty sure I was in 8th grade, in middle school?!:erk:
Anywho, I also loved DJB as well!!! I also love "No Guts, No Glory"! "Fall Of The Peacemakers" is still a classic imho! His solo album is awesome & Rock Candy records just re-released it & remastered it!
I LOVED Blackfoot as well back then too!!! Good Times from WAY back
in the day! I think I need Mr. Peabody & his Way-Back Machine now! :kickass:

I also wanted to point out, I listened to all kinds of Hard Rock
back in the day, in school, just before I got into Metal! Everything from Art/Progressive Rock ala Rush, ELP, Yes, Jethro Tull, to AC/DC to good ole' Southern Rock like Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot & 38 Special!
Oh & does anyone on here remember or has ever heard of Macon, Ga's "Doc Holiday"?!
Btw, someone I worked w/ last year just gave me his copy of
"Warriors Of Rainbow Bridge"! Now I think I'll give it a spin
for sure! It sounds like it's pretty awesome!

I have a soft spot for good ol' ass kickin' Southern rock, and I love Molly Hatchet. I remember reading in a Circus magazine before the debut came out, and they said MH were like Skynyrd meets Ted Nugent.
Saw them play with The Outlaws on the Flirtin' tour, and in one of the most weird touring combos, The Michael Schenker Group opened for them. The current version of MH only had Dave Hlubeck as an original member, but the rest of the "new" guys do justice to the MH sound.
