Nocturnus is pretty awesome. Mike Browning is in there, he used to be in Morbid Angel.

Nocturnus was pretty unique for their time. The only album I've heard is The Key. There are some pretty evident similarities between early Morbid Angel and Nocturnus.

Nocturnus are far better than Morbid Angel, although MA has probably had more influence.

I don't really like anything after Blessed. Pete Sandoval has to be one of the most irritating drummers ever. He can't shut the fuck up for five seconds and play a standard beat–nothing but blasts and unneccessary fills.

"Altars of Madness" is worthy of all the worship it get, but I dunno about most of the other stuff. I've never been much into death metal if it isn't old-school as fvkk. That said,

Morbid Angel are okay, they are pretty influential but indeed Nocturnus is better.
Sandoval's a pretty good drummer, I heard that his drumming for Terrorizer's World Downfall was one of his best efforts.

I like Morbid Angel. Their older stuff is much better than what they are doing now but I still like the material they put out. I saw them live in April with Satyricon and Suffocation. That was a bad ass show but no "Maze of Torment"

Jesus fuck, do you read what you type? I think I heard comebacks like that in the sixth grade.

Maybe you enjoy constant fills and blasting. That's your call. But by the standards of heavy metal drumming, Sandoval is way excessive and lacking in dynamics changes.
