Overall, I thought it was great, but somehow, I don't think many people will share that opinion.

Actually, it sounds like a solid hybrid of 'Formulas Fatal to the Flesh' and 'Gateways...' which would explain why a ton of people will be disappointed. Oh well. I think it fucking rules, and the drum solo track kicks the shit out of the one on the latest live Cryptopsy.

yea! this new MA is geared more towards the old school style and sound... a great come back!

I agree that Flo's live drum solo was bland and repetitive, but maybe it would be a different story if he was recording in a studio and had the opportunity to do it over and over again...

Since David left the band they haven't really done much for me. I've still bought the albums when they came out, but nothing touches Altars-Domination in my opinion. I'll still check this one out though. Hopefully it will be better than the last two...

I've had it for a couple days now and have listened to it a few times. I think it's pretty good. It has a different production then the previous two, a clear heavy "open" sound. The couple mellow instrumentals remind me of newer Burzum. I'm sure they'll catch hell for that by some of the "purists". Also the inclusion of the "non-serious" track Drum Check might get a few people scratching their heads. Pete can sure bash the shit out of that kit. All in all I think it's a good solid album. I'll be interested to see what other people think of it as a whole as more people acquire it.

i dont think its a bad album, but i dont like it anywhere near as much as Formulas/Covenant/Blessed...

so far i guess i like the first track best. Each track (except enshrined by crap, snooze) has a part i like, but the rest is "eh"... i thought formulas was much stronger throughout

ive been listening to it on and off the last few days and will continue too.. hope it grows on me somehow
