Morbid Angel's new album has a song about Nevermore?!

Hey John... are you going to like this album when you first hear it, and then hate it, and then like it again?

I'm not sure. It probably depends if I over listen to it, and if I feel like being a cunt.

I was listening to God of Emptiness last night and it's finally fresh again after I killed it a few years ago.

Morbid Angel? "no-name"!?! You seriously need to get out more!

I was there!
Don't think too much of the new song. It sounded like it could have been from Heretic, haven't really moved on from that period yet.

I was gonna say something close to that, but then I decided since the audio on the recording was awful, I wasn't going to say anything.

But now I think I'll say it...

This sounds worse than the material on Heretic. The song it self sounds just like Cleansed in Pestilence.

Also, I have no hope in David Vincent saving this band in the studio (Live is a different story). Even after he left, Formula's came out and it was a pretty decent album. Gateways, not as good but still decent, and Heretic descending a bit more into the realm of suck.

The largest part of the song writing was always on Azagthoth's shoulders, and he's just losing it. Maybe Vincent wrote a large chunk of this album as he did Covenant and Domination, and if thats the case, we'll probably end up with another very inconsistent album like Domination.
