OK- puppy eyes work on me, but don't tell anyone this!
This is the translation (almost word 4 word):
After the wonderful performance of Orphaned Land last year in Holland, I was determined to see another show by them. So I opted for the WOA Roadshow with OL, instea of another tour that was there on the same day. Then plans changed, as originally there were supposed to be 2 tours hitting Munich at the same time: the WOA one and the Neckbreakers Ball tour.
The promtors decided this was not a good thing, for them and for the audience, and so the tours were combined to form the bill of the Hellfest festival. This was how Orphaned Land and Esiferum came to share a stage with 5 scandinavian bands from the Neckbreakers Ball tour.
Orphaned Land-got the big challenge to open the festival. Because of the early hour of their performance at 16.30 the hall was not even filled with half the crowd it could hold and it seemed that the people who where there when they started playing hadn't heard of them yet. All this was about to change!
It was evident that the quintet from Israel where the most exotic band on the bill. Being the only band from outside of Scandinavia and the only band offering a different sound by playing a mixture of prog and death metal, combined with a lot of oriental elements.
The oriental sounds of the band were the intro for the mood enhancing opening track 'ocean land', with which the Israelis entered the stage and directly went to full speed ahead. Because they don't have a replacement keyboard player after Eden Rabin left the band, his parts were coming from tape. In only 35 minutes the best songs from the excellent Mabool album were played. With 'Norra el norra' we got the oriental masterpiece with the gitarriffs, topped off with piano, sung by multiple bandmembers in the chorus parts. Then we even got an enchanting glimpse of arabian musical culture with 'El Meod Na'ala', from the debut album El Norra Alila. ( this is what she wrote, I kept the mistake there- Nathalie)
The most impressive song from the setlist was 'the kiss of Babylon', because it showcases all the trademarks of the music of the band.
Because of the tight schedule, there was no room for an encore.
Then at the end of the complete review of the festival she writes: during the long break in between the 3 'main acts'that were going to perform, I visited the merchandise stand and talked to the nice Orphaned Land fanclub manager Nathalie, who had especially travelled here from Holland. ( hihih, guess that's me

I must say, the pleasure was all mine to meet these 2 ladies who are obviously fans of Orphaned Land. We had a nice chat about women in the world of metal and all. You know how it is.
The pictures are in the site gallery, but I put all of them up here already.
