More new Nine Inch Nails - Discipline track

So what? being original is synonymous for being good? i couldn't care less even if they invented the goddamn wheel.

It's not necessarily synonymous however I don't think the 'shit band' moniker really applies to a band that created its own sound, progressed their sound with each album, and understands good song structure and dynamics. As Tumn said, you don't like them, and that's fine, personally I don't care. But 'shit band' isn't even remotely a valid assessment, period.

Opinions differ, clearly, and quite honestly i don't think i have to add ''imo'' at the end of every post i make. You think that they are ''an original band that understands good structures'', while i think that they are ''annoying techno rock with forced, insignificant vocals''. So there. My point is as valid as yours, period.

You just tend to have a lot of time to chime in on topics with negative comments... Ive noticed it quite a few times. If I took the time to drop in and diss everything I didnt like it would consume a lot of time.

pretty hate machine, the downward spiral, the fragile and BROKEN (especially this one) are the only worthy things NIN has made. The rest are meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh....

trent should change the name to yawn inch nails

That's like, 2/3 of their actual output :P

"The Fragile" was one of my favorite albums for years and I still love about half of it. Trent Reznor is definitely not one of the better singers around but he wrote a lot of very memorable material and a lot of the soundscapes on the fragile are flat out amazing. The two albums since have been a giant step down in complexity, With Teeth especially sounds almost like Pretty Hate Machine. Neither that or Year Zero has really impressed me much, but they arent BAD. I quite like Pretty Hate Machine and TDS too, and Broken (and its counterpart remix album Fixed) are pretty slick. They have a lot of other random EPs and singles and such that I liked too, "The Perfect Drug" being a standout (as well as easily the most fun song to play on drums in the game rock band :Smokin:). The new material on the "Still" ep was also stellar, I love the instrumental segues on there. I've only listened to the first "Ghosts" ep, but nothing on it came close to the instrumentals on Still or The Fragile. Or even teh Quake soundtrack for that matter, some of that was pretty badass :D

weell yeah i guess i was just trying to say that their latest output has not been as stelar as their first albums. i have t be honest and admit i havent' listened to "ghosts" but it gets so much praise that i could probably think it's cool. ill have to listen to it.

NIN is cool, but trent should keep evolving into something better rather than going backwards.

that new song is not *good* anyway.
