Yeah their not my favourites, but when I think of a "classic" album, i think of something that actually had a significant impact on the industry and society and that had everybody talking about it, not obscure metal albums 99% of people have never heard of. these are the first I can think of, there are plenty more.

I'd define "classic albums" as ones that have made a big impact on the music scene and are more innovative than popular usually.
 
I'm sticking to the question the thread asked - THE album.. not albums lol. For me it couldn't be anything other than Opeth.. and out of a close decision between 2 of their albums i'd say it'd have to be Still Life.
