Most convincing programmed drums?

Keith Merrow and his drummer bro took the crown with the Demisery album, seriously.

at least I think its SD2. But I guess they recorded it with an Ekit, so I dunno if "programmed" is the right term for it.

I'm checking it out now. Tight stuff! It seems like tracking on an electronic kit is the most accurate way to capture all of a drummers natural tendencies.

I don't know how convincing the drums were as nothing stuck out as "fake" for me, at the time, but this bit from a Type O Negative interview some years back surprised me.

"For the first time since 1993’s Bloody Kisses, Type O Negative utilized live drums in the album’s recording process. On the last three Type O CDs, the drums were actually programmed in the studio "

They were nothing like the Meshuggah gymnastics of course.

Well. That would explain why the drum sounds (esp. the snare) sound like Roland R-8 drum machine. :err:

Black Album!

Too late.
