most intense heaviest riff/mix i've ever written

Brutaaaaal as fuck.I really dig your tone man. What have u done at the end with the guitars?Sounds like too much noiz gate.

Well, it's heavy for sure, but it isn't one of your best tones. It got grit and good mids, but it isn't perfect (not sure what bothering, probaply something mix-wise...:D) . And it is very dry, but this kind of tone should be kinda dry imo. But anyway. It's teh Br00talzzz!

I give up. If this is a great tone, then my ears are broken. Sorry, it doesn't appeal to me. I am not bagging you ryan, I obviously have the problem. :o :heh:

Your ears are just fine ;) It's just a matter of tast in this case, IMO. I can definitely see why people like it but it's not my cup of tea either.

I agree it sounds a bit Meshugga-like. It fits the style though.

sounds pretty awesome for what you used. bass is a little loud but i love it overall.

watch those edits on the guitars tho!

i just program the way i want it in the sequencer then i bring i set it as a bybass on reapers vst params and automate it for bypass

great mix, but the guitars are struggling so low; there's an unwanted wah noise, which I also get when I tune low.

are you talking about the BAAAAOUW aka djent? Not exactly unwanted for certain genres. I'm experimenting with it now in A# seems to really jump out nicely when you boost 2k-8k

haha same here, the BAAOOWW thing in this clip sounds amazing, as good as the low freqs wich make my speakers tremble, dunno how to get such a low freq but in a controlled way... will mess with that too... and as i don't own a 7 string... ill have to buy heavier strings to try that low tuning, then try the eq boost, it'd be kool if you post some results markG =) i think there's many of us going for that sound

Well I think Sora and Bulb know way more about the djent sound than I do. I'm working on some experiments in A# though I will most definitely post up later when I've got the song sorted for mixing advice.
