Godsmack blows. :Puke:

Lucky for me, I wasn't a kid when they came out. Easier for adults to recognize instant garbage. Their drummer is one of the best in the business though. I'm at least happy for him that he finally got the credit that he deserves. His original band > Godsmack - musically speaking.

This band is still around. Every Godsmack song i've heard sounds the same as the last one. go away

Godsmack is a decent hard rock band, no more no less. And yes...Shannon Larkin is a great drummer. Although, most everyone stopped paying attention after he left Souls At Zero.

im gonna go out on a limb here...

when it comes to drummers, i was all about Dave Lombardo for awhile... but since than ive been exposed to so much better and this is what i found...

 Gene Hoglan

I saw them open for Metallica and they put on a fun show. The double drum thing kicked ass. (if anyone knows about it) The singer and drummer have a drum battle.

which is funny cause they have that song where he says "Go away" over and over

What, you mean every single Godsmack song? Most every one I've heard has, "go away", "keep away", "stay away", "leave me alone", or some other variation in it.

Yes, Souls At Zero was thrash and use to be called Wrathchild America. Didn't Shannon Larkin play with Ugly Kid Joe also, a great drummer. I agree, godsmack is decent but the majority of their songs sound the same (go away/keep away/push away,etc...)

I really enjoyed the debut; a cross between "Black" era Metallica and AiC. However, their sophmore effort sounded like leftovers from the debut. I've never heard the 3rd CD. Been spinning "IV" this week, and I have to say, I like it. They've definitely grown and they've refined their songwriting. There's a lot of different instruments used on this one, some excellent female vocals on "Hollow", and a real strong groove throughout. While the original poster's comparisons to Nevermore are beyond absurd, I'll be picking this one up.
