Mountain Dew

That diet shit is even worse for you. They substitute nutra-sweet for the sugar. Nutra-sweet is known for causing cancer. No shit.

I've made an effort to drink more water. Water flushes your system clean (but cranberry juice makes your pipes squeaky clean), so you don't get kidney stones, which can be caused by too much soda. Just ask my office mate, who had kidney surgery two weeks ago because of stones.

Yeah, Diet Soda is even worse than regular ...
I quit all fast food and soda drinking for about 4-5 months now and just from that lost about 7-10 lbs.

Not to mention that I don't feel bloated anymore and lethargic. Fucking fast food made me feel lazy all the time.

If I want some "flavored" drink ... usually water and some cherry or rasberry syrup or have some juice.

I must say that Coke is still in my diet in one form ... I need it with my Jack Daniels :D

yeah i TRY to drink water as much as i can. i know the diet soda is bad too. but i read in our health insurance booklet that drinking just one regular 12 oz can of soda a day can increase your risk of diabetes by 30%. and it runs in my family so i'd rather risk the cancer.

I wish I had the willpower to drink less coke, but I don't. I'm not horrendous with it, but I get through six two-litre bottles a week :erk:

This is my water of choice ... being Romanian and all. Luckily it is plentifully available in NYC for about $7 a six-pack of 1.5 liter bottles.

There are a lot of mineral waters from Romania, that are naturally carbonated ... and most of them even have quite a foul smell when you try them for the first time, including this Borsec.

this is all in the Ukraine? ... damn you guys got it made now. back in the early 80's all we had was the evil Communist Pepsi to drink in Romania :D

Personally, I'd rather diabetes than cancer. Trust me, my dad has diabetes and my mom has cancer, so I've seen the effects. Neither runs in my family, but my dad just kinda let himself go. My mom was just one of the unlucky ones, you know.....

well at least you've cut back!

I need to cut back more - I'm not addicted or anything, I've gone weeks without it before, but I just need to stop buying it :o

sorry to hear that J.

my grandpa had diabetes something wicked and ended up dying from complications. there's at least a smaller chance of me getting cancer from diet drinks than getting diabetes from the sugar. so, oh well. i'd still like to drink more water and i should.

I dont know, my parents drink a shit load of pop, and they havent had any diabetes. My brother 6ft tall and 130 lbs, drinks like 4 or 5 pops a day.

ALthough it doesnt create diabetes, its in the same spirit-- I am a total caffeine addict. I suppose I have three double espressos, and a cup or two of tea a day, and it really doesnt affect me.

all you soda lovers need to watch SUPERSIZE ME!

good movie, but fucking rediculous sometimes. The dude goes from almost-vegan, to eating McDonalds exclusivly. Uhhhhh, thats like me saying "hey! im gona drink from this natural well!" after only drinking city/tap/purified water for my whole life. Doesn't really work out, but people in main only drink well water in certain places, and it doesn't do them any harm at all.

WTF. UM is being a real Jew tonight. last two posts didnt show up.

Wine kicks ass. Most of my friends drink beer (as do I sometimes), but Id take a nice aged red wine over beer most any day.
