I like Alexi's crispy tone and top playing in this abhorrence of a song. All this makes me think is if someone deserves a tribute album with people covering each of his songs, it's Alexi. But COB covers are worse than the original 90-99% of the time, so that's maybe why no-one covers them. Sad thing that great metal bands stopped existing just when the Alexi-worshipping generation started to exist. You have all these worshipped guitarists and song makers lifted to a divine status and acknowledged because they're dead... The future of music is all about techno and death metal covers of COB.

I don't see new quality metal bands rising, really. So many bands that are not shocking and just try to be like the others. Some awake promise, but only have one good song... Since it's so hard to triumph and get paid as a metal musician these days, no sane young man will dedicate his life to a band anymore, let alone five guys. This fact, together with the fact that great artists come in small numbers, it's so unlikely to have bands like Bodom, In Flames, Hypocrisy anymore, therefore the future of great music could be in computer music, where one genius can handle the whole project and still study or work.

I don't care where the metal comes from, nor do I think there's anything special about Finland except the nature. I have nothing against Sweden (except vikings turning into fairies) and I love Hypocrisy, In Flames, Amon Amarth (if they come from Sweden) and probably others I forget to mention. Finland only has Bodom and Swallow the Sun now pretty much, since 69 Eyes, HIM, Moonsorrow are past their time, and many artists only had one good album... Then there's the case of Norther and Kalmah, which were promising bands, who failed because they didn't consider everything they put out.

^+1, Maybe I'm a retard, but I really think the vocals and lyrics in this song are annoying. Alexi has some great crispy sound and atmospheric bends going on. Heaps better playing than the original. Some day people will wake up and even in junior high music classes they teach Bodom. Everybody knows fucking Nothing Else Matters but no-one knows Everytime I Die. Fucking stupid.

Loved Alexi's guitar playing on this cover. Just like I was hoping......very true to the original, but with his style on it. Would I say it's better than the original? No. But it is prob. the best cover of this song I have heard. Vocals were meh.

HIM was genious around '97 - 2003 or so, an interpretation of the sorrows of man in love tragedies. Listen to this enchanting chorus, 4:54. In fact this kind of tragic emotion is what gave Bodom all its female fans with the Follow the Reaper album. Makes you remember music isn't just about shredding, but emotion.
