My best mix yet (i think) opinions please

Hi ,
i was bored yesterday and because there has been A LOT of time since
i mixed something i decided to take a song from the "list of raw songs to mix" thread
and give it a shot...
this is the result:

Storm king - The death equation:

Drums : real drums + slate kick/toms + morgoe snare (i fucking love this snare)
Vocals: Voxengo voxformer

Ferric TDS tape saturator on every group bus

master buss: waves ssl comp (dual mono) + Ferric TDS

Mastering chain:

waves ssl comp

elephant

sure that you know better than me about mixes. It sound huge for me but a little too bassy in general for my taste, not sure how to tell you but it needs some more definition IMhumildeO

I love the bass sound when I hear it alone, how do you get that growly sound???

Very nice, there's a really quite annoying frequency in the low mids of the snare muddying stuff up though. The bus compresion reminds me of SYL-Alien a bit.

In reaper you do it like this :

2 mono plugins routed to each side L and R

where it says 1 in 1 out
put one on vst in 1 -> vst out 1
and the other plugin in vst in 2 -> vst out 2


thanks for the tips
tomorrow i will try to make it less bassy/muddy and more defined
maybe with some eq or multiband compression
