My First Attempt At Fredman Mic'ing

Just threw this together quickly to test out the Fredman mic'ing, as I got an i5 today. I used a JMP-1 preamp, Marshall EL34 100/100 poweramp, and a 1960B cab for this. i5 on axis, and a 57 off axis. These went into a Mackie Onyx 800R on 300Ω impedance on both channels. Ignore the repetitive song haha

And heres another mix of it, cut a load of mids out

I think it definitely has a Marshall crunch to it, need to buy a 5150 I think.

Let us know what you think

i really like the song dude. the one with the mids cut sounds way way better though. the draums in that take sound more lifelike. like the song alot though.

great drum sound - what samples you've used? especially for kick?

The snares were the DFHS snare, a snare I have knocking around which is called MT Snare Ambient, think I picked it up around here, and the ddrum 4 sample I used was a Ludwig one, the file name I have for it is "009 LU 6x14 2SA 01.WAV" if you have the samples.

The kick drum samples I blended were both from the ddrum 4, the file names are "902 22 Rock.WAV" and "124 22TAkick3 dd3.WAV".

Hope thats some help!

thanks man!
and i like the version with mids cuted! first one sounds cheapier - if you know what i mean (cheap cpu speakers effect)

buff, cant find MT Snare Ambient... hehe
can you upload it for me?
