My first mix, need halp

I've been lurking this forum for a while and reading like crazy, finally biting the bullet and asking for help. This is my first time trying to mix my own shit and it's not going very well. I've done the mix practice things and they sounded okay, I think its my DIs or something. Can anyone give me any pointers?

I think the guitars would benefit from a highpass filter ~90Hz and a lowpass filter around ~11kHz. The drums need to breathe a little bit. I think parallel compression, sending them to a Aux and adding a slammed compressor would help.

I also suggest looking into frequency anaylzers. Bluecat isn't bad. Use that to learn will you will want to most comonly boost or reduce.
