What type of angel am I?
To be born with razor-blade wings
And a halo frayed at the seams
What type of angel am I?
To be a lady of war,
But the Gods' divine keeper of peace
To feel the pain of those I've slain,
And the absence of glory of those I've saved
So what type of angel am I?
To have a pitch black soul
And an even blacker heart
While my mind is saturated by their fumes from within their dark pits

Serving the greater good
Never to know exactly what that really is
Always feeling like I'm falling back onto my mortal desires
So what angel am I?
Which trumpet swan or ill-fated crow,
Who by the light of good is contantly mistaken for a shadow?

To service them with the usual apples
Just to bleed them red
My tears that stain their golden hue
So which Queen of Hearts or bewildered Alice am I?
Which angel through the spheres of melee...
From that of which the world came,
Back into it again
The janus duel of my esteems
Preceding the cut-throat honor of modern day war
This angel of battlefields that never find themselves to stray
To distant lands
Nor to involve another party
...Kept inside...kept inside..

What type of angel am I?
Forever entrapted by the layers of grey
Forever encaged in the cell of shade
Mover? Shaker? Or just a wind who sways?
Never to know what type of angel am I

I posted this at a poetry site and got 4 reviews that were borderline or poor(some bastard gave me 1 star!). Is it that bad?

i think that that is a damn good poem, fuck the bastards on that site. just because its not bright and unicorny, doesnt make it bad. i read alot of poetry, because my ib literature class demands it, and i really liked it, and found it to be a well written poem. good job.
