my latest and greatest! Finished album

howdy guys.

the past 4 months have had me mixing away at an album, and i just handed it off to the band last weekend!

i'm pretty happy with the way it all turned out, and i'm actually reasonably satisfied with the sound! the band liked it too, added bonus!

i'm not that much a fan of the guitar sound...sounds a bit weak...sry^^

we used a 6505 in the end, i was quite happy with the way it turned out though! aha.

more low end, perhaps?

yeah perhaps more low end...and they sound a bit "hollow" and boxy somehow, you now what i mean?

anyway i like the song itself and the kick

I like the high end of the guitar tone. It's nice and sharp. This mix is really lacking low end. If you knocked up the bass in the bass guitar and kick, you could have a potentially amazing mix here.

hmm, i'll talk to them about bring up the low end, we've still got some time before it's put to CD.

as for the boxy/hollowness, i know exactly what you mean, i've done what i can to remove it, but re-amping conditions weren't exactly.. ideal.

irony: i actually lowered the low end, in the final mix settings, because i thought it was too much!

Yeah more bass. When the chorus comes in, it starts to sound slightly distorted to me - as if the master bus compressor was working too fast and hard. Apart from that though I really like it - especially musically.
