I've decided to offer up this track with my mastering chain bypassed in hopes that a few of you will take a stab at it. I'd like to hear other approaches to mastering. Please post what you used, if you decide to give it a go! Thanks.

Maybe the kick drum a little more volume. But i think it depends on taste. Besides that the mix is very clean and balanced Awesome stuff, 1+

I really like it! Maybe a bit overcompressed and guitars sound a bit grainy but it's a great mix you came up with! Ah, that short blastbeat at 1:53 needs to get quantized more. It sounds really sloppy in comparison to the rest of the song.

Some infos would be nice!

i agree with it being a bit overcompressed. i still suck at mastering.

recording info:

drums
rode nt5s for overheads, 57 on snare, 57 on rack tom, d112 on floor tom. slate samples on top of the real sounds (kick 10, maple toms and i forget which snare). all mics into a digimax d8 > digi002.

guitars and bass are direct-in (digimax d8 > 002) podfarm with impulses (catharsis on guitar, ampeg svt 8x10 on bass).

vocals were tracked with an sm57 into the digimax, as well.

The overall mix is too bright, the mix sounds a bit washed out, definately could use more mids imo. And where's the bass?

too bright? really? it seems to stand up pretty well to some of my favorite mixes. i agree about the mids and the bass is there, just pushed down significantly. i feel like the overall mix is muddy but i'm not sure how to get the definition i want.
