And Filipe. Aparrently it's "too tight" and "the snare sucks." Why does the snare suck? "It's not my snare." That's why it sucks.

Whatevs. I just wish I was doing the other track, I could do with the money.
 
The band doesn't like that really tight gate sound that everyone has been using on palm mutes apparently. They also told me they don't like the kick on your mix and they have the same problems with the guitars that everyone else has outlined.

What did you use for the boost on the guitars? I think that may be what is making the attack sound so odd. Is this the SD-1 in front of a 5150?

I'm not sure what the boost is. Ask ryan, but it's probably SD-1.
 
An SD-1 shouldn't cause any problems with attack on guitars, it's a perfectly acceptable and usable boost pedal that sounds great like a TS can. They don't sound exactly the same obviously, but an SD-1 is a great boost pedal regardless.
I'd be thinking that 1.5K boost is where the problem is at.
 
Too tight? I think they dont know what they say or they dont know what they want. Despite the overgain, the guitars dont have much definition specially in palm mutes, so how can it be tight?lol Now that I heard better the mix, the kick doesnt sound too natural, there is something weird in his sound. As I said the mix sounds good but I think she have to brightness.
 
I love the drums on this one! Kinda reminds me abit of an oldies-goldies album, Beneath The Remains :rock:
 
its bad playing. trust me i just got done with some EPIC reamps that had a shitload of an attack with the same mic setting. its totally them.
 
^ Dude srsly... read the threads that he pointed out earlier in this thread. He's been through it in depth a couple of times before.

holy fuck man this kind of sound is what i've after for like... well a long time... sounds really fucking amazing in my ears man 10/10 , i wanna hear mor of your works, have a site or something?
 
Gareth, just checked this out. I think you did an awesome job homie. The guitars actually have a slight HM-2-esque character or something with the kind of attack/distortion going on, I dig it. If they don't like it they are fucking deaf.
