black and white it's the best, you don't need to think about the colors problem and all this
all you need is a very special imagination
and little technical but it's not so hard after you get the principle.

About your work, I have to say that my preffered it is "opressed childish".... I like the combination of colours, which it creates a very dark atmosphere....

Nice photo's, and a lovely drawing.
I like the last photo in the Mentally Dying Bride the best. Black and white is the best to express such an image imo.
