My new shred machine

Did you guys know that if Gibson broke their les paul necks and reglued them before they were shipped, they would be sturdier guitars?

Yes, i did know that! :)

Les Pauls have too much angle on their headstock.
For a guitar to maintain that kind of angle you need a diamond bracing in the neck.. tried to find pictures but i failed, but its basically a rhombus of wood that they put as a crossover between then neck and the headstock(Fibers pointing opposite direction as the neck.).
AND a volute:

Ed Roman is a douche, but yeah, he's right on that one. Try finding an old Gibson Les Paul, 50s or 60s, that hasn't had a neck damage at the headstock at least once... it's almost impossible if the guitar didn't just sit in a case for decades.

I mean, the drastically angled headstock design makes sense, but Les Paul probably just didn't have in mind that this will cause more trouble than benefits in the long run.

And yeah, Gibson never had a problem pissing on its own legacy, so it escapes me why they never made little changes to rectify this.

But I also think some of Ed Romans points are bullshit, especially that "Les Pauls are too heavy" thing.
