TA DAH!

I'd like to say yes but no, you can see my handy work in the earlier pics. Though I'm quite good with a circular saw and floor tiles. It was a chap called Colin Keefe from Long Eaton, about 15 miles from me. He's really done a great job on it, took his time, about 10 months, but was worth it.

Did you get another nitrocellulose paint finish or just polyurethane? From the first picture it almost looks like you could've turned it into a Ninja V. Anywayz, nice work... Makes me proud to own a Gibson :)

Very nice, though the white pickguard doesn't do it for me (never been a fan of the old-school look ;)) - I love the idea of thickening up the body by adding a top, but did you have to re-mount the neck to make the fretboard higher as a result? (you say "neck recontoured," maybe that's what you meant). Love the low-pro Floyd, must've been some serious routing to get it in there!

And is that a V-amp I spy in your rack in the background? :zombie:

no, no need to reset the neck. The originals had quite a high fret board so it worked out well and the floyd could be mounted correctly without having the block cut down. I figured I have enough modern v's so getting this one back to a more old school look but still usable (floyd, emgs etc) was the way to go. Yes extra tone on there also and the jack input got moved off the scratchplate to underneath the top fin.

Amazing, I have always been a sucker for white flying V's!

I would love to hear that one in action. What pickups did you go with?

That's great!

I'd love to hear you belt out some old Sabbat riffs on that thing.

Go on........please..........can ya?.......

We need some more Sneap Raw Guitar tones.

damn, that looks nice!
Will you be playing that one in London/Hellfire?
I used to have a 73 V that sounded really sweet (as you know cause Roland used it for some leads on the Aeronautics I think, it's the medallion)...
I'm still biting my ass for having given that one away, the quality of todays gibsons is so much inferior (or at least very inconsistent, there are still some really good new gibsons, but you gotta search for them).

I much prefer the older round headstock as well.
