My SD2 drums sound like dogshit, need help

So drums are my biggest issue generally, my drum tracks always seem to sound thin but add mud to the mix overall. Whilst generally sounding like shit.

What are some of the main things I doing wrong here...?

Doing fills manually sucks. Use the fills lines that comes with ez drummer and all that shit. You will learn much more. As for the drums, I cant even hear the kick, the snare needs more meat, try blend with other samples. And for the drum fills, work the velocities with toms, it's essential.

I did actually program the drums incorrectly, they sounded correct at full speed, but off at the tempo I recorded this at.
I have fixed that now.
I've also re-eq'd and comped the kick and snare.

My suggestion is to get the Slate add on pack for SD2.0 and edit some of the presets. You will have better luck going that route without wasting a shit load of time. I personally don't like the kicks in SD so what I do is use kicks from Metal Foundry and use the rest of the kit from Avatar and an edited slate preset. I got my dream kit by doing this.
