Wow, long time no see. Anyway...anyone left who actually remembers me, haha.

this sounds like the usual "hey check my band" shit, and it is (if we were actually a band with more than two members), but it's also gearporn for you guys. First... you can watch our video if you want and check our facebook page...:

We also share 2 songs of the hopefully upcoming LP... for free:

Second: I recorded, mixed and mastered this shit BUT Kurt Ballou was nice enough to reamp the guitars and the bass. Fuck yes. Oh and drums are obviously programmed.... ;)

Hope you like it. :)

Welcome back haha, when I saw your name/avatar I immediately looked at the date thinking this was gonna be a necro-bump.

Song is very good, I really like the video as well! Seems like visually interesting music videos have become a rare breed these days.

Thanks guys!

About the vocals... that seems to be my preference as I wanted to make them even quieter. ;) I don't like vocals on top of me mix! :)

Good to see that some of the long time users are still around after every question on the forum was about line 6, superior drummer, slate and takt. That was when I didn't came back anymore as I felt I didn't learn much around here prior to all the years I basicaly learned everything I know now.

Gotta check back more often now!

Welcome back duder!

Sounds very good! Even the programmed drums are sounding pretty naturel to me, and that the bass is just gnarly, loving it!

There is so much humanizing going on that I think it would have been easier to record real drums ;)

Glad you like it!

Kurts ramps are fantastic.

Very sweet dude! Nice song and video! I definitely recognize that Kurt Ballou bass and guitar sound. His mic selection is unreal. And I'm super impressed he can get all those mics to work in phase. I've never seen 6 mics on a bass setup before. Wow. Seems like he looooves his ribbon mics. He seems to use em on everything.

6 Bass mics? Haha, you can't see the stereo rooms :)

It's not like they're all perfectly in phase. You'll do some alignment afterwards and still have some phasing - but actually that's part of his sound when you listen to his guitars!

Damn that vocal is deal breaker! It's just sound like senseless shouting and even with put effort it's impossible to understand what is said - to the point it gets annoying.
It would be a ton better even without vocals, because everything else is killer and sound perfectly as it should. I wouldn't tell that drums are programmed without you telling that.

...have you listened to much metal? These vocals are way more intelligible than plenty of other bands.

Anyway, I love this mix and the music. I'm a sucker for sludgy post-metal stuff. :D Even though I recognize the Superior Drummer room mic in the background it still sounds very believable.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm working on my vocals. I feel like they fit the music pretty well though. I don't know if you speak German though... So... Understanding them might be harder :)

Thanks man, it's appreciated!
