i got it at a second hand clothing store (the salvation army for those of you who know them) for like $2. it is heavy, wool, and warm. the symbol looks british but i think it may be danish or norwiegan. somebody suggested it might be some new nazi thing, but i hope its not.

Haha...I've got the exact same trenchcoat at home! Although it's Finnish/Estonian, but same color, length and all.

Yes, Karlskrona is a Swedish town, and Im pretty sure the symbol is Swedish as well...
I would say the symbol looks like some Swedish banner thingy from the Norwegian/Swedish/Danish wars...

No, I can tell you pretty easily that its not German, nor some nazi symbol...
I would still go with Swedish from the days of the Norwegian/Swedish/Danish wars.

Yeah, the crown and the swords are quite universal, so even if Nazi's used them, I wouldn't be stating that it is a Nazi symbol...

Considering it is a Swedish city, it looks like a Swedish army jacket from the old days...

Just found better pictures
well since it's apparently swedish why would it be a nazi-symbol?

it's just the ordinary symbol for the swedish army corps, which looks like this nowadays:

This "Karlskrona"(krona is Swedish for crown) isn't a German word (in German it would be krone) and I'm pretty sure that this coat hasn't Nazi origin.
In my opinion it can't be Nazi, 'cuz ther most signs or ribbons of them showed the swastica, and never a crown. The crown is more a sign of a monarchy. Sweden would still match.

I don't know the relation with Nazism, but Marduk has been using this symbol on some of their shirts. Somehow Marduk's singer Legion has a swastika tattooed on his neck. As for Karlskrona, it was an important navy port in ww2 and under the rule of King KarlXI. It was also one of the few Swedish town to be hit by german V1 missiles during ww2, actually one of 7 missiles that crashed in Sweden.
Karlkrona is also the symbol of nazi revival in Sweden Nationalsocialistisk Front started back in 1994 somehow Karlkrona was one of the few swedish cities where jews were allowed to live. As for this jacket I have no idea, there used to be a grenadier regiment in Karlskrona and a lot of warships, so it could have belonged to a sailor.
But enough with the history lesson.

Yeah, they used swords, but not in combination with a crown.
(the historical fact)
BTW, what means NRP & VAM? Are these 2 things a kind of abbreviation?
Haven't heard NRP or VAM before.

NRP is the nordic people's party Nordiska Rikspartiet
VAM is the white aryan resistance Vitt Ariskt Motstånd

And btw, don't think I am some kind of nazi, i just did a search on yahoo.
As for Karlskrona it is a known city to any ww2 buff or sea fanatic as well as a medieval city rich in history. Just wanted to clarify that!

Hey, I don't accuse you of beeing one. I just think that you know something about this topic, nothing more.

Ahh...these are some 'clubs' in the north. That's the reason why I never heard of them. But then I have to say, that these 2 communities are fully independent. What they do must not correspond to the historical associations. They use swords, but the historical nazis didn't use it very often.

Well they use swords and the suncross. I was watching a magazine on french tv about the rise of neo nazism in Sweden and it looks like these parties are on the rise in a lot of scandinavian countries. If you are interested i found this on http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/se%7Dnaz.html
Somehow I know a little about the subject because i ve always been interested in military&medieval history (Karlskrona is famous for that). As soon as I saw the pics of the jacket it reminded me of one of Marduk's shirt I have where they have the crown and I think 2 lions, then Belgiantroll mentioned nazi symbol, so I looked on yahoo see if there was any relation with the symbol & nazi party. Apparently there is not, but stangelly enough Karlskrona seems to be a big swedish stronghold for such extremist parties.
