On our next recording we are planning to trigger most of the drums. (kick & toms) Our drummers has a Roland TD-3 Drum module. Is it possible to link the midi from it to a Profire2626 so it actually triggers EZdrummer or something else so i can record the midi notes? I am using Pro-Tools M-Powered 8.
What would you guy recommend? EzDrummer + DHF or SSD Ex, they both cost below 100 Euro. Does ssd required other (expensinve) software to run?

SSD doesn't require any other software, as it comes with Kontakt Player. I think it has presets for Roland kits too.

However, latency is the factor that's going to decide if you can track through it or not. That depends on your interface, drivers, computer, etc etc. At the very least if you can't monitor through SSD, you'll be able to record midi, monitor with the drum module and just send it through SSD later.
