After going through one of my "hardly touching the guitar" phases that I go through every once and a while I am back practicing everyday getting the chops up and I will even be busting out the metronome once i can afford a new battery for it.

Also I have given myself the assignment of learning Eric Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover" because of the unwritten law that every rock guitarist needs to learn it but I somehow never have.

I would argue that that's a benefit to American beer. Coors Light is fine because it does taste pretty much like water, so I can drink it without dealing with nasty beer taste. Yuck.

I wish we lived in a country where hard alcohol was the bevvy franca.

troo dat.

i think the only eric johnson tune i ever learned was a slower one. trademark? think that was it. but i had an old guitar magazine with the tab for cliffs of dover in it- it had vernon reid, black metal originator on the cover.

I've been in one of those hardly touching the guitar phases ever since I recorded that stuff on your album. I use it for composition stuff but you can bet that if I had access to a piano I probably wouldn't touch my guitar at all!

At any rate, guitar practicing's good and I should get back in the habit of doing it. I play occasionally but not at all like I used to. I also learned Cliffs of Dover way back in the day. Maybe I should transcribe some Toxik or go through my old jazz books and learn the stuff in there.
