Napster back online!

What's it like?
Do you have to pay anything?
Are there as many restricted searches as before?
Am I asking too many questions?

Napster will never be as good as it used to be... I think i'll stick with Audiogalaxy for now

Napster, what's that? ;)

Well, seriously, I never used it. With this beautiful university LAN we have... I don't need it :)

I downloaded it... Before I shared 116 files, now none of them qualify so I share zero files. I think it sucks. Right now their file transfer system is still down and being worked on...They don't say how long until it's up and running.....They say, however, that they won some law suit thing, so files will be shared in the future... I don't know what artists will be available though.

I gaven't used Napster since the first blocks went into effect. Don't use Audiogalaxy because it's slow as hell and has that damned spyware in it. I have been using WinMX, more options, more files than Napster in its prime, and has the same exact layout. Can't be blocked or shut down either.

Hey Human Life what do you mean about the spyware in Audiogalaxy??? Please tell me a bit more about this, I happen to use audiogalaxy quite a lot and I'd like to know what I'm using....

Spyware explained, as simply as possible: All that supposedly 'free' software you can get ahold of (realplayer, cuteftp, audiogalaxy satellite, etc, etc) is free for a reason. They have built in sniffers that report usage data of your computer to the publisher that they then sell to marketing people. Of course the end user is never enlightened as to this fact whenever it can be avoided.

Yet another reason to go with opensource.
