I've been getting a lot of BM as well, if I'm honest - weird shit with names like Grebnebelfurtsen... but I do seem to get two to three power metal albums a month, and they're nearly always dire.
Ive got about 10 Relapse reviews in my book upstairs and countless obscure BM band reviews. Ive been trying to "diversify" my buying lately, but my purchaes are still probably 2/3 BM bands. In fact, probably 70% of my CDs are BM.

LOL - yeah, they were - luckily, they were a pretty good example. Since Anaal Nathrakh started getting fellated by Terrorizer on a regular basis (deservedly so, too), everyone with a guitar, a drum machine and an 8-track has been forming one-or-two-man grim necro BM projects, it seems...

I hope you send along your stuff. I have several BM CDs for somebody as we speak. Plus I have plenty other stuff to help diversify your collection.
Another positive of working for UM, or any webzine, is that you can get free press passes to many shows. I had the chance to go interview Mastodon and Uphill Battle (while watching the show for free), but I couldn't find anybody to go with. Plus . . . the show was 4 hours away in LA.
