native instruments interface advice...

so, in my search for a nice, small interface to track on the road i found out my brother owns this thing:

which seems sturdy and reliable.
still, 2 things bother me:

1. it's connected with a USB cable instead of firewire, and i'm curious if it's works as good as a firewire interface.

2. aside from one mic XLR input, all I/O are RCA!
which means i have to get some PL/RCA connectors but it's skeptical about performance and sound quality. after all, i'm a METAL dude and that interface is built for electro stuff.

anyone had and experience with it?

That interface is intended for DJs, hence the RCA connectors for turntables.
It's probably not going to be suitable for mobile tracking with micas and so forth.
