Nazgul (Ita) - De Expugnatione Elfmuth

Has anyone heard this band? De Expugnatione Elfmuth is fucking awesome classical/symphonic black metal. Tolkien based lyrics in Latin are always a plus as well.

The only thing that turns people off is the vox. Which admittedly is the weakest part of the album.

That's a great CD. Very melodic. I actually like the vocals. He sounds like a dying ork or something.

Musically, I think this album is incredible and easily earns the reviews it has on the metal archives. The vocals are terrible though, and almost ruin the experience. Fortunately, they're so low in the mix that I sometimes don't notice them. Either way, I can't imagine what would drive them to put so much work into this otherwise flawless album only to fuck up that badly on the vocals. If only they had some at least decent vocals or just left them out completely, this might just be one of the best symphonic albums I've heard.

vox are cool - just imagine it as another instrument, right. its not like you can take it seriously as a "singer" or anything.
