I'm pitch shifting my guitar to sound like a bass in Reaper into Lepou Lextac but i need more tightness/power/volume. What free limiter/compressor VSTS do you guys recommend? also any advice for a tighter sound?

also what do you guys use for drums?
thanks

To boost power to drums or any other instrument there's TLs Saturated Driver. It's like a Limiter/Compressor combined.

Density mkIII is also a great free compressor along with anything else by Variety of Sound.

And for limiter you can try out one that just came out for the KVR Developer's Challenge called Maxwell Smart.

And for more, I recommend checking out this terrific website:

And for getting a tighter sound, you can use bass cab impulse responses with your bass.
Just load one of the wav files into the kefir impulse loader and turn the mix dial to 100%

Hope this helps! :)

stillwells "Rocket" is a great free compressor(well it does technically cost money but you can use a fully functioning demo indefinitely)

Check out Major Tom. It's a JS plugin bundled with REAPER. It doesn't look pretty, but with Detection set to RMS and Detection source set to Feedback, it is one hell of a compressor.

Check vejichan's posts.
He always wants the lastest and best freebies/instructions, asks for exact presets if you offer him some and never says thanks!
