I'm just getting into brutal death metal. Give me the essentials.
I heard Carnivore Diprosopus and i liked them.

I'd like to contribute with Emeth. They don't play the usual bdm, but are great.

Definantly check out

Deathbound
Deeds of Flesh
Nile
Krisiun

Do Cannibal Corpse count?

Only Deeds Of Flesh is actually considered brutal death from that list. The rest is simply death metal (Nile can sometimes be pretty tech-y though), and IIRC Deathbound are deathgrind or something. they're decent, though, to be sure.

Emeth is a good suggestion, but their last album wasn't very brutal. It is pretty good though. Spazzy tech death with hardcore vocals!

Fair enough! The genre's of Death Metal are quite blurry... Though thats probably due to alchohol more than anything else...

Yea, it's more techy.

Cattle Decapitation is a no-go, not brutal death metal (gimmicky deathgrind with a lot of melody all over the place) and they're crap anyway :p

Thanks for all the bands. Cenotaph and Amputated Genitals have been kickin my ass. I'm gonna pick up a few more cd's today. So is there a difference between deathgrind and brutal death? What would a deathgrind band be

Are Cryptopsy BDM? A lot of people say that None So Vile is a defining moment for the genre.

If they are, definitely check out their work with Lord Worm.
