Hey guys, I'm Aaron, totally new to this blah blah blah.

I've recently gotten really into making recordings on the family computer.

Its the standard stock dell.

I know most of you probably have, pro tools, cubase, mixing boards, awesome gear etc.

Well.. I do not.

I use the Line 6 GX Toneport for guitars, bass and vocals. (LOL, how cheap of me.)
I use Fruity Loops 9 for drums. (With samples I've acquired and edited)
And this is the kicker!
I use AUDACITY to record.

Laugh all you want, but I'm just getting my feet wet.

Heres the song.

Its me on all instruments including vocals.

Help me out? Help me mix?

Thanks a lot, and be gentle.

I guess copy and paste that?

Let me know if it doesn't work.

Seems like it's hard to get any listens or advice from this board lately.

1. You are a talented dude doing it all by yourself.

Constructive Criticisms:

Those cymbals crashes are LOUD. It's very programmed sounding in that it sounds like the same samples over and over again. Maybe edit some velocity changes in there? Any multisamples available to you? I don't know a damn thing about FL.

I'm personally sick to death of programmed drums but you gotta make due with what's available to you. I could never in my whole life play those drums! Not many drummers could.

I think the vocals could come up.

The guitars lack cohesiveness and that DM bite. Maybe a little boost around 6k?

Good work.

I actually got some responses, that's cool. I honestly didn't think I would.

Thanks so very much for even listening!

The samples that I used were from the FL Studio 9 sample list.
Since this recording, I've acquired more samples that just sound way bigger, but still just like a fake, triggered drum set. I guess it's okay for little demos to give to players to get my point across, right?

If anyone knows where I can get some drum samples, (OTHER THAN THE SNEAP KIT) in wav. form, please let me know!

I will post another track soon to show you my progress.
