Need recording cymbal suggestions

Wuhan chinas are meant to be killer.. but quite inconsistent, so sometimes they're awesome sometimes they're terrible. Really cheap though.
+1.

Grab a Wuhan if you want a loud, thrashy china, but try it out before you buy one. When I got mine, I tested 4-5 16" Wuhan chinas at the store, and all of them sounded different.

I have a 20" wuhan china, and it's fucking loud. Perhaps even too loud for my tastes. Last time I tried it I wasn't so sure if I liked it that much anymore, I'm gonna need to try it with decent earplugs next time.

What type of china sound are you aiming for?

Personally from my experiences with Sabian chinas they never were trashy enough, too metal sounding(no other word i can think of to describe it)

Are you going to be trying out all the cymbals before to see which you prefer?
Or are you net ordering?

I've been a fan of A series and Avedis crashes myself, I've played on Paragons as well and they are awesome for crashes- they're all very durable for hard hitting drummers from what I've seen/played. The Zildjian Oriental for a china is awesome, but if I were gigging with it I would be worried to hit it too hard and cracking it over time but it's amazing nonetheless- I would look into Paiste RUDE's too man for a china just in respect to their durability- those are nice. As for hats I use Z 14 mastersound hats and they are nice for I'm using them for but probably not as bright as I would want them to be- I have heard of drummers matching up tops and bottoms from different series... I'm trying to remember who specifically but they guy I'm thinking of matched a 13 K on top and a 13 mastersound Z on bottom and it sounded noice. I don't think brightness should be the main focus though, you should just go to a shop and find what sounds best to you. Darker cymbals might be better but who knows everything everyone else has suggested is badass. Look into Alchemy and Istanbul cymbals too- This probably isn't helping hahaha
