Trail of the Unwary is the new album by Nest. A Finnish band that plays ambient and acoustic Folk, with musical themes inspired by Finland's forests, animals and well, nature in general. The main instrument being used is the ancient Finnish Kantele( a stringed instrument) I feel it gives the music a beautiful Medieval sound. Synths are used in a superb way along with lapland drums. According to Corvus, Nest's label in Bulgaria, Aggalloch's members contribute backing vox. I'm certain I hear J.Haughm singing on a couple of the tracks. For me, the music conjures up grace, honor and nobility. An outstanding brick of music. Along with "Novella Reservoir", TOTU will be in my years top albums. Highly recommended. Peace.

I've been wanting to get into this band but ive had trouble finding their cds.

Fubar, check out Firebox.fi from Finland. That's where I got TOTU. Or Redstream.org or Projekt.com. One of these distros should have one or the other, and maybe both Woodsmoke(also excellent) and TOTU.

K thanks man.

Woodsmoke as you know is an excellent album. Imo, TOTU is better, in that, their sound seems to be better developed. It certainly has the beautiful melodies as WS, it just appears they stretched the music to include more ambience and improved composition. The "spoken" vocal style is more profound on this. WS was a magical forest journey. TOTU resonates to me an honor and nobility. A magnificent album.

They are both perfect. Listening to a lot of Nest this past week.. and it leaves me with a very isolated, lonely feeling... very depressive undertones of hopelessness and sadness... but at the same time very beautiful. It's such cool music to just relax and ponder. And his way of playing the kantele is much cooler, I think than the strumming methods.. just excellent in every way.
