Nevermore-ish guitar tone test

A band I'm recording wants a Sneap-kind of sound (as we all do,right?),similar to the Nevermore productions. So before finishing the recording sessions, I made a quick test and recorded a simple riff to see how it sounds. Unfortunatelly no bass.. Take a listen and tell me what you think of it

Sounds cool, but without palm mutes it's not that easy to say if it's really cool or not
bass is also a need for that imo
but it sounds good so far

Yeah definitely lacking a bass. But it sounds pretty promising.
