What tuning is that album done in overall? and does anyone have any tabs for those songs from Nevermore's humble new beginnings?

wow, i always thought it was lower than that. maybe it's just the incredible fuckin' tone that album had that's throwin' me off. so.. what about tabs?

There may be some songs that are lower, I can't recall (haven't listened to the album in a couple years), but generally before Dead Heart when the 7 was introduced, they tuned to Eb.

I'm not sure how accurate the tab is, but the songs pretty fuckin simple, so whatever.

Simple but effective is my motto. even simple riffs can have an insanely awesome impact. that's what i like about that song. i was actually prepared for someone to tell me the song was like in C. strangely enough, i have 2 6-strings with both of those tunings ready anyway, not to mention a 7-string tuned down a half step for the newer stuff. thanks for tab, dude.

for me... it depends on my mood. more simple songs when i'm just hanging around, and more technical songs right before i pick up my own guitar, or just because i just plain fuckin' love Nevermore to not care about my mood, i play their stuff.

I guess atmosphere, emotion, and melody is what I consider the most important in music, and there are very few artists who can make technical music with those three elements (I suppose they're more three in one, a musical trinity if you will). Somewhere between the polyrhythms and the diminishedwhatever scales at 300 bpm the emotion tends to get lost.

Since this is one of those threads, I might as well ask:

What is I, Voyager's time signature? 4/4 and what else?

it's all 4/4. now...the psalm of lydia.. that's a tricky bastard. it goes in and out of time in like 8/8 to 6/4 to 2/4 to 7/8... not in that particular order.. but jeez.

I've actually found myself listening to the first Nevermore album alot lately. i usually listen to This Godless Endeavor regularly, but as of late... it's all been about the first album.
