I got into that record (and the band as well) because of a press review. Never happened to me so far. :goggly:

Really like that album. Everything sounds so "in place" and defined. Doesn't seem to have too many layers of sound. Just what's necessary.

I also like the music quite a bit!

Really? Then I should probably check them out. Strychnine.213 is the first thing I've heard from them. (I knew the band by name but never heard anything by them.)

Did you miss the old records? the 2 new ones suck pretty hard compared to those.
okie dokie, smokey dopey? probably you should just stop sniffin' your Sharpie markers.

seriously though, i have them all and as far as i'm concerned the two latest ones are the best of the lot.

Eventually it all just boils down to taste now doesn't it? ;)
Goremageddon & The Archaic Abattoir are for me the best they did, good riffs and good songs ( hecatomb @ about 1.00, best grindriff ever!).
Slaughter & Apparatus seems ok-ish, but the new stuff strikes me as a bit uninspired, and lacks the riffs and songwriting they had on the previous 2 albums i mentioned..

The line up changes didn't realy help, they were alot better in the Goremageddon & The Archaic Abattoir era line up live aswell.

yep, and had you stated it as such, i wouldn't have bothered replying,

if your going to state your opinions as fact though....

i prefer the newer albums. i like them all, though. at least we can all agree though that Aborted = good stuff.

Belgium's finest band

Very true. The funny thing is that we Frenchies always put Aborted in the "French finest metal bands" group, and we forget they're from Belgium :) Actually for some of us Belgium is somehow a region of France or something :)
Anyway the band has a French guitar player and an English drummer so they're not that Belgian :)

Back to the thread i loved the last album and the production (i love how "live" it sounds).

But for those who don't know their first efforts they are badass as well, in a different genre though.

Purity of perversion -> great songs but very poor production

Engineering the dead -> pure twisted brutal death/grind awesomeness. My favourite so far (the one that got me into the band actually).

Goremaggedon -> new evolution with the band, good but still not there. Not a fan of Jacob Hansen's production

The Archaïc Abattoir -> on this one the new Aborted style (more modern but with a lot of Carcass influences as well) is combined with badass songwriting and production (i'm not a fan of Tue MAdsen's stuff in general but on this one he did a killer job)

Slaughter & Apparatus -> back to something a bit darker and more brutal but with poor songwriting IMO. Sounds like poor B-sides of the Archaïc Abattoir. Never liked that one.

Strychnine 213 -> new evolution again (same style since Goremaggedon but even more modern and with a very special vibe throughout the album and a very good use of melody, especially in solos). Great songs, great production.

So my top 3 is:

1) Engineering the dead 2) Strychnine 213 3)the Archaïc abattoir
