New Acacia Strain Song (zeuss)

i dunno this mix sounds exactly the same as continent. Come to think it, so do the songs.

I think i see what you mean by that. would you say brian hood's latest deathcore stuff has the sound?

+1

In addition to Ermz's comment, I'd add to that the use of REALLY dry drums. I would hesitate, again, to throw the new JFAC in with this group/genre as a whole, but the drums on it sound a little dry (but killer).

The main thing with a lot of these bands are mid centric 5150 type sound and thick ass dry drums. Not a bad thing at all, it works IMO. I love the dry drum tones in Brian's mixes. I wish I could get a sound like that in my band's stuff, but it just doesn't fit (we are not deathcore). This Zeuss mix sounds like it has more ambience in the drums though.

Oh my fuck. That track is really cool, mix is much the same as usual for the genre, but hey it works and sounds pretty awesome to me. Will buy when the album is out.

yea, i've listened to this song so much, really loving it.

except the vocals, i didn't like the samey dual tracked vocals in continent, and they're back.. :|

the drums and guitars and the mix in general is perfect though.

the dead walk is still better..

bump

This album comes out tomorrow. I've heard a full quality 320kbps track and the mix is fucking great... the best I've heard from Zeuss in a long time, and possibly the clearest sounding mix with 8 string guitars I've ever heard. Really heavy, but also really crisp and clear... not a huge fan of the band, but digging this!

I think the snare rules by the way... what's not to like about it?

The snare is probably my favorite part of Wormwood. Then vocals, guitar.
I just wish the bass would cut through more. :(

Other than that, I fucking love this album. Good job Acacia. And Zeuss, of course.

I agree with this being a really clear mix for 8 strings. Really groove oriented and gross. The lyrics seem to fit my past couple of weeks nicely, with me being a miserable prick and all.

Some Sevendusty riffs happenin. I'll be blasting this until for a while. MA represent.

Album is cool. a little redundant. Drums are super loud but they sound good.

Yeah, I've listened to the whole album a few times now. Most of the songs are pretty similar... still enjoyable though. I don't think the drums are that loud... they're just upfront. I like upfront drums, and I play guitar. Joey's mixes are the same way. I think it makes everything more punchy...

Anybody else notice the Modern Warefare 2 references in the song titles? lol
