New album Foregone out February 2023

I would say this is the extent autotune should've went at most. It doesn't sound THAT artificial, just layered as fuck. Foregone 2 sounds like a bad voice being pumped until it sounds inhuman. This sounds more... "epic"? Within Temptation comes to my mind for some reason. Reminds me a lot of something, but can't recall it right now.

I love RIse Against but don't get those vibes.
I also think of something different, but can't quite grasp it. Closest thing that came to mind was RA.

You aren't really selling it to me based on that description :D
I never intended to, I'm not sold myself at this point. Though it was original, that I have to admit.

On the other hand, A Dialogue is straight out of Battles, but with nice outro.

Bleeding Out's chorus starts out like Cynosure's for 0,5 secs, then Anders remembers he has already done that before, so it turns into something meh. Shit song, but Chris is working overtime after the second chorus. If Anders gave at least half of a flying fuck, this song could've been much better, but alas.

I'll wait for the official release on Friday. My pirating days are behind me, which is weird to say when my first IF album was every R2R song downloaded individually on Warez.

So I've heard it all. It's a Whoracle pt. 2, back to the roots!

I expect same reception here as with ITM. Some ok songs, nothing groundbreaking, lots of autotune. Luckily, no such low points as with Life, but still, some mediocre tracks.

I've counted at least 3 songs where Anders goes full Bjorn Strid (wait until you here the bonus track). Combine Anders' growls with Bjorn cleans and it could have been nice, but right now, it's really not.

My favourite new track so far is In The Dark (and instrumental, I forgot about that one!), I dig the catchy chorus. End The Transmission is boring until it hits the solo straight out of Slayer random solos book, picks up the pace and goes with some intensity.

I'd probably rate it around 6.5/10 for now, though I really liked all previous singles. It definitely belongs to Battles and ITM trilogy.

It's not like you're harming anyone if you buy it anyway :D

Ditto. I don’t even have a personal computer these days, sure as hell not going to download on my work computer.

May I bet that's because of the magic oF unpackaging and spinning the album for the first time?

From a lot of years ago, I never buy an album before listening to it. I have had enough had experiences so I'm always cautious.

Don't think I'll have much to say until early next week (sorry guys), because I'll be gone tomorrow, but to reflect on the ITM comparison, I can say that if ITM will be the quality of IF records we are going to get moving forward, I am happy with that. By that I don't necessary mean the ITM sound, just the effort put into it. ITM has some really great bangers, some middle of the pack songs, flcutuating between decent and good, and a few garbage tracks. I'd say those are good ratios.

I'm glad Become One is a bonus track; instant worst one on the record. Strange, because IF's bonus or non-LP songs are usually good, or at least fun. Watch Them Feed, DIscover Me, ASOP sessions, SC's two bonus tracks (still salty about those;unbelievable) and even the two Battles one are somewhat on the guilty pleasure side. Okay, Us Against The World is pretty stinky now that I listened it again...

Quick review:

01. The Beginning Of All Things. Nice. I like it. That's the kind of tunes that I was missing. At last some folk vibes.
02. State of Slow Decay. Boring.
03. Meet Your Maker. Boring.
04. Bleeding Out. I like the intro.Autotune's Anders. Listenable song. Not great. Not bad. Good solo by the American dude. Anders try to destroy all the good work towards the end.
05. Foregone Pt. 1. Boring.
06. Foregone Pt. 2. Less boring than the first part.
07. Pure Light Of Mind. The acoustic intro sounds, a bit, like Conditional. Why Anders? Why? Generic song. Boring. This could be better without the vocals.
08. The Great Deceiver. Boring.
09. In The Dark. I don't understand this song. Boring.
10. A Dialogue In B Flat Minor. Why Anders? Why? Boring.
11. Cynosure. More Autotunes' Anders. The chorus is kind of interesting because it's a bit, not too much, different from the rest of the album. But, it's just another generic song.
12. End The Transmission. Kill me please!
13. Become one. It starts like a discarded song from ASOP. I... Just don't...

So, final impressions.

Anyone complaining about the autotunes in the previous album is lucky because here there's more. Like a loooooooot more.

The album is generic.

In the end, It feels like all the choruses are the same.

To me, ITM is far better than this lame attempt to appeal to the old fanbase.

Interesting my ass.

The best since ASOP my ass.

Better than THE my ass.

Back to the roots my ass.

Melodeath my ass.

It's funny how the reviewers almost don't mention the only song that really has an old IF vibe, that is, the intro. It makes me wish that they had made a full album from just this song. It's the only one that seems to have real emotion behind it.

If you didn't like the mid tempo songs from ITM, I don't think that you're going to like these better. But I might be wrong.

Dude! YOU'RE SO FUCKING RIGHT!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Anders's voice is so processed during the whole album, growls included, that it's annoying.
