those bands are older than some of us and Impaled is not that big.Municipal Waste is on the way,but you can't even dare to compare it to bands you had in the USA in the past(many of them are still alive nowadays,but they're not new.they're not appearing now) like Slayer,Metallica,Megadeath,Cannibal Corpse,Morbid Angel,Death,... and I could name many more.American metal isn't by far what it was,and this is undeniable.

of course it isn't as good as it was, but its the same way in europe. america has a lot of good bands and then a lot of crappy noise bullshit, nu metal, metalcore etc but europe has a lot of good bands too but they also have their version of metalcore and that stuff such as generic bland emo wannabe melo death bands. i can't think of anywhere in the world that has better bands coming out now in the 2000's than there were in the 80's and 90's, what i was trying to say is just everyone seems to lump american metal now as shit because they see the stuff on headbangers ball and mtv and think thats what all newer american metal bands are like but thats simply not true.

Hey! Shadows Fall is like my guilty pleasure The American scene is terrible nowadays. Sure their are exceptions, but the mainstream rock/metal is just awful. It was the scene in 70's and 80's, then it became cool not to be good at your instruments

i think we all have 1 or 2 guilty american-pleasures

is that relating to my post or something i've said in the past? it does progress but almost all of the bands coming out nowadays are nowhere near as good as the older bands. cob have progressed from hatebreeder to are you dead yet? does it mean are you dead yet is better music? no, not at all.

I don't find them that bad,and they're not awful and narrow combinations of strange mesures IMO.

I would just like to hear them write songs with better structures as well
Like Sonata Arctica level
They drifted to far from the neo classical days to go back completly
But i think that if they mixed all the sounds together
And made songs with better flow
It would be way sicker than just goin back to the old days
