New Annihilator song

Always been a huge fan since the beginning. Still like the newer stuff but Padden is probably one of the worst vocalists in metal. Can't get past it.....

Listening to the new one on Spotify now. Apparently it's a 2 disc version where they re-recorded alot of their classics on the 2nd disc. While I hate that shit and I'm expecting vastly inferior versions to the originals, I'm gonna listen to it for shits and giggles.

The new CD itself is very strong to be honest. Their best record since Set The World On Fire, but not quite reaching the glory of that record. It's an admirable balance of heaviness, slick riffs, shred, and early 90's cheese though.

It's all over the place in my opinion. There are some tracks that are right up there with the best they've ever done, but then like most Annihilator albums, there are songs that have no business being on an Annihilator album.

As people have said in this thread, Dave Padden is the weak link if you ask me. His vocals are just soulless and dry. His thrash voice isn't ballsy enough and his melodic style isn't soulful enough. Just kind of weak, but for what it is the record is definitely a step above everything they've done over the last 15 years.

Seems extraneous in this case because IMO their first two albums didn't sound bad to begin with. Destruction, on the other hand...I can't take anything they did before 1988, so their re-recordings album is essential to me.

Yeah I agree. Annihilator's stuff was alot of things, but poorly produced is not one of them.

Well said, sir! I love some of it, like some it and think a few songs are total shit. The same can be said for most of their catalog....
