These guys are my favorite tech/extreme/melodic death metal band.

Check it out for yourself.

Arsis is right behind Opeth for my favorite metal band ever, so excellent!

I've probably listened to this song 10 times already. It's much more technical than almost anything else they've done before.

:D:D:D

Glad you guys like this!

I am almost positive, though, that this is a demo. The mixing sounds cheap, the drums are way too loud, and there are a number of gaping tempo changes (0:29--even though I like them in a rustic sort of way)

Good to see there are some Arsis fans out here. A Diamond For Disease is the greatest song ever written.

Absolutely. James Malone's ability to play Arsis' ultra-complex shreds, tapping solos, and sweep picking plus use studio-quality vocals is amazing.

When they toured last year, Jim had pneumonia so they had to hire a sucky backup vocalist. But still, touring while you have pneumonia--agh.

Arsis lost me a little with United in Regret but I still really like the first album and ep. I'd really like to catch their live show one of these days.

great live show, just saw them with Warbringer and Exodus a month ago.

I've gotta say, as great as the guitars are (like usual), Darren really seems to overplay the drums and kinda ruins it for me. Theres almost no groove because he keeps chopping it up by adding copious amounts of fills and such. He definitely has chops but he needs to take it down a notch, imo.

Thanks for introducing me to this band with this thread - I'll definately be purchasing their albums.

Cheers.

Arsis is cool, I like them better than Necrophagist. I think their songs actually have a point other than simply showing off.

That, for me, describes 95% of metal.
