New Arsis Song

HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

This song on Myspace is a different one than was on youtube. Wow. It is killer.

Observations thus far:
Progressive, emotional intro ala Painted Eyes

Sounds like standard tunings as promissed

Copiously delicious amounts of double bass

Counting like 4/5 guitar lines at most times.

Amazingly catchy yet brutal chorus. Malone proves once again he is an amazing vocalist who uses good use of rythmn to place his vocals.

Absolutely amazing soloage starting around 1:30

Good use of death metal growls

Features a massive black metal riff at about 2:20

yes. i can't stand the drummer he's way too busy. theres like 80 riffs in a 3 minute song that have nothing to do with each other.

Servants of the Night is badass.
Falling Winds of Hopeless Greed is badass.
Failure's Conquest is badass.

The rest of the songs are mediocre at best. I don't really like arsis with off blasts. Their older songs were a bit simpler the drums were a bit simpler and there was alot more texture to their sound.

I guess I can see that. I for one prefer Cesca to Van Dyne, he's considerably busier but I also find what he did on that album to be more interesting than a lot of what Van Dyne did. There were also a few sections on United in Regret where Van Dyne was fairly sloppy. It's a definite step up from the last disc imho.

I agree 100%. There is much more cohesion and passion on this than United in Regret. And it definitely lives up to its "diverse" promiss. You have more groove-oriented songs like We Are The Nightmare and Failing Winds..., and super-complex, fast, dissonant songs like A Feast For The Liar's Tongue.

Loving it.
