The drumming is incredible, but you can barely hear it! In all honesty, I'm not digging this mix much . The gats sound huge and way cool, but the drums aren't as punchy or 'in your face' as I'd prefer.

Behemoth's snares never seem to sound huge imo. It was the same on Demigod and Zos Kia Cultus, imo.

BUT, it sounds almost demo quality compared to Demigod.

According to the videos they had on youtube, Bergstrand mixed this, correct?

I do dig the natural sound of the drums, especially snare. how it's not totally overbearing during the blasts and such, sounds like someone actually playing the drums.

not particularly my style, but it's a bit refreshing.

this album is absolutely brutal... it KILLS demigod imo

This definately sounds more natural than demigod. Especially the drums which almost have this lo-fi edge to them at times. Toms sound a bit weird at times. Almost distorted. I like it. The drumming is just unbelievable. Vocals don't sound as processed either.
However, I preferred the production on Demigod. That is one of the best modern sounding DM albums I've ever heard.

I'm not a huge fan of the vocals on Demigod. They do sound extremely.. demonic, which is cool, for maybe a chorus. I like this new one much better than DG for this reason. The music and drumming are stunning on both.

That reminds me.. I saw a SYL video before I had heard of them. Someone in the room said it was Behemoth. So when I went to the Behemoth show a little later in the year, I asked Nergal why he had a skullet in his music video. The look he gave me was priceless, and eventually I figured out my mistake. Heh.
