New BG tour dates

That's pretty sweet - the date in New York coincides perfectly with me coming home from school for thanksgiving. So...what exactly has been confirmed about this tour? Who's opening, who's headlining, who's playing at all?

Are you sure that Hammerfall is opening? According to Hammerfalls website, they are going to be touring with Dio come November/December. Nothing was mentioned about Blind Guardian.

This is great news!!! 2 shows in the New York/New Jersey area! For all interested the NJ show is going to be at the Birch Hill. Then New York show is going to be at The World (aka WWE New York). I never thought I would have the chance to see Blind Guardian 3 times in one month!!!

Damn - that's a shame really. It's not a very good venue for concerts since it has so many blind spots.

Any idea what the venue in NJ is like? :)

Well I've never been to The World, but I can tell you that the Birch Hill isn't a bad place to see a show. I would however advise that you get there early if you want to be up front. I would describe it as levels. You have the stage up front then the floor, then there is a step and another floor and so on. Total 3 levels. There are bars on each level, the floor has them on the side and the other two levels have them in the middle (Don't ask me why). Hope you get a chance to see them at one of the shows.

How would you descibe The World as a concert venue. By blind spots do you mean tables and stuff??

- Shit acoustics - really bad 'bouncing off the walls' effects
- Pillars on every corners and inbetween blocking the view
- Big monitor tv's supposedly showing what's happening on stage, except only half of them work so the faulty ones are yet more obstacles to contend with
- Tables/Chairs (like a restaurant) alongside the circumference of the standing area - so stupid it's unbelievable

This venue is a bar restaurant during the day - I have no idea why bands choose this place to play when there are much better places in the NY area.

I never thought I'd complain about weekend shows...but the NYC show coincides with a wedding I'll be at in Baltimore. ARRRGGHHH!!!

Looks like I have to go to Birch Hill, which is by far and away, the worst venue I've ever been to. Oh well, I won't complain simply because so far a bunch of the country isn't even being touched (yet).

WWE The World: Only seen Arch Enemy & Nile there, but it was impressive. The beer wasn't overpriced, the different levels allow for movement to find quality sight & sound angles (mid-level right next to the soundboard was pristine), and entrance was smooth and easy.

Birch Hill: No alcohol sales. No liquor license. Hot, sweaty, cramped, no circulation, the worst gorilla-type bouncers EVER, poor merchandising area, long drive & no parking, disgusting bathrooms, no alcohol, shall I go on?

According to the Sy-X mailing list, Sy-X is back to being "UNCONFIRMED" for this. I'll be at the Chicago show regardless, but I figured I'd pass this info on. It's new as of the last 24-48 hours FYI......

Yeah but if it isn't Symphony X, it's probably going to be Hammerfall.

To be honest, it could be some guy playing the spoons, I'm there for BG at the end of the day.

Seems like there has been a change in the BG Tour Dates... Ticketmaster has Blind Guardian playing the Birch Hill in New Jersey on Thursday, Nov. 21. The BG Tour page has them playing on Sunday, Nov. 24. Guess they didn't change dates on the Tour Page yet??
