It's fixed gear, ie: your feet keep moving as the wheel moves, you can't stop peddling like on freewheel bike. So to brake, you just stop moving your feet, or move them slower to slow down, etc.

my bike had custom paint job (eldflames) and was fekkin kool. I am afraid it is dead now though

More importantly: Will Bozarth, isn't that a character from fucking PETE AND PETE?!?!?!?! I meant to start a thread about that show recently but figured no one would know what I was talking about. BEST SHOW EVER
A couple years ago the Petes were doing commercial work - I think one of them was Pizza Hut. And I swear to goat that the bully character (can't remember his name or the actor's name) was played by Sam Rockwell who several years ago shot to stardom only to completely disappear soon after.

I don't understand the purpose of this bike. So there's no freewheel? Seems like stopping in city traffic would be incredibly dangerous. Isn't this a track bike?

Based on track bikes. To lazy to explain why they are awsome but they are. Ride one sometime. I guess it's just preference.
