Haven't listened to it yet, waiting to search the leak torrent/rapidshare. But so far I'm really intrigued. Though Sax may have worked for Amorphis, it only worked for like two songs then it began to piss me off (I blame Pasi). I think Ihsan has a better ear though, so I'm stoked.

Still prefer Equilibrium of all his stuff, but doesn't mean I can't find something I like in all the rest.

The album fucking sucks. Every Ihsahn album has one or two good tracks, followed by a load of shit. This includes Emperor.

No, it isn't black metal. No, it isn't power metal. He's a creative guitarist, I'll give him that. But his songwriting is awful, his harsh vocals have become unlistenable, his folk project sucked too. Ihsahn should just quit music and get a real job, because I'm tired of him having icon status he does not deserve.

I agree upon this. 90% of the fans definitely listens to it 'cause it's a "metal legend" playing.

I couldn't get into Ihsahn's solo stuff either. However, In the Nightside Eclipse and Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk are fuckin gold.

I'm a fan of his other projects like Emperor but his solo cds are amazing in my opinion.
